Dress Code Policy

 

Students at Kearns-Saint Ann School shall be dressed appropriately at all times. They are required to be in complete uniform every day. Exceptions are special occasions and official meeting days of Brownies, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Please ensure that you child maintains a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. If, for any reason, your child is not wearing the school uniform, please send a written explanation to the teacher. At no time will students be allowed to wear team jackets, sweatshirts, t-shirts, caps, or other items with team logos on them.

Important

All items, with the exception of shoes, socks, undershirts and the P.E. uniform, MUST be purchased from Dennis Uniform. Shirts must be buttoned, including cuffs and collars, except the top button, and tucked in at the waist. (Pre-K students should refer to the Preschool Handbook for their clothing requirements)

Girls

  • HAIR: Natural (original) hair color only. Hair style must be worn in a neat and tasteful manner

  • HEADBANDS: Headbands must be a solid blue, black or white color, or the headband that can be purchased at Dennis Uniform

  • JEWELRY:

    • Earrings are limited to one post of conservative size and style PER EAR worn on the lobe.
    • Only religious necklaces on a small-link, silver or gold chains are allowed
    • Please, for safety purchases, no bracelets, rings and no dangling earrings.
  • MAKEUP:Makeup of any kind is discouraged. Should eighth graders choose to wear makeup, it must be inconspicuous and worn in a neat and tasteful manner.
  • FINGERNAILS: Long fingernails and colored nails are NOT permitted.

EXTREMES OF ANY KIND ARE NOT PERMITTED

Boys

  • HAIR: Natural (original) hair color only. Hair must be neat and well-trimmed on the sides and back and extend no further than the TOP OF THE COLLAR.
  • SIDEBURNS: Sideburns should be neatly trimmed and may extend only to the bottom of the ear.
  • EARRINGS: Earrings may NOT be worn.

EXTREMES OF ANY KIND ARE NOT PERMITTED

Shoes

Leather dress shoes in dark brown, black, or navy blue, OR ALL BLACK athletic shoes with black soles and black shoe laces, both with non-marking heels and soles, may be worn. The athletic shoes must be all black. There can be no white and no coloring in with markers. Back athletic shoes can be found at Famous Footwear, Big Five, Payless Shoes and Dillards, among others. If you choose to purchase athletic shoes that are white or partially white, they can NOT be worn at school, except during P.E. class. NO BOOTS, SHOES WITH LIGHTS, PLATFORM SHOES, SHOES WITH HEELS HIGHER THAN 2", SANDALS, or CLOGS are allowed.

P.E. Uniform

Students in Second through Fifth Grade must purchase Regulation P.E. uniform shorts and T-shirts through the school. Solid white, solid blue or black socks and tennis shoes are required for P.E.
